LORETTA EBY HOT GLASS

Watkinsville, GA

Once she got to art school, Loretta quickly realized she wanted to be a glassblower instead of an illustrator. After creating glass art for 27 years, she knows she wants to make glass for the rest of her life.  In 1987, Loretta and her husband picked a place that used to be a chicken house in rural Georgia as their studio. Initially, the chicken house was part of a farm full of artists but the couple annexed more and more of the old chicken house, until they took over the entire building.

Loretta Eby has been blowing glass since graduating with her BFA in glass from the Cleveland Institute of Art in the early 80's. Her works can be found in galleries and museums throughout the country and she has received numerous accolades and awards for her works.
